Native Bacteria Isolated from Phosphate Deposits Reveal Efficient Metal Biosorption and Adhesion to Ore Particles

Mining and processing phosphate ore are among the essential branches of economy in some developing countries, including Algeria. Conventional beneficiation methods can harm environment by consuming tremendous amounts water resources (during washing flotation), potentially hazardous chemicals, thermal energy. Mine contains toxic metals that, when released, interfere with environmental functioning. Therefore, line needs, conventional should be gradually replaced safe biotechnological processes. This study aimed to investigate biosorption adhesion abilities native microorganisms isolated from Djebel Onk (Algeria). The examined bacterial strains differed their metal accumulation efficiency. incubation strain Bacillus HK4 significantly increased recovery Mg Cd (at pH 7, 8147.00 100.89 µg/g−1, respectively). also revealed better particles than reference subtilis. Thus, could more effective using strain, which remove and/or over a 4–10 range. Moreover, concerning unique capacity HK4, considered design bioflotation methods, as well development an eco-friendly method post-flotation waste beneficiation.
